Doordarshan, the national broadcaster, has announced the daily live telecast of the morning prayers dedicated to the Ram Lalla idol at the Ayodhya Ram Temple. This initiative aims to connect devotees worldwide, especially those unable to visit the temple in person.
Doordarshan will broadcast the Mangala, Shringaar, Rajbhog, Sandhya, and Shayan Aartis offered to the Ram Lalla idol at the Ayodhya Ram temple on DD National.
The morning aarti will be broadcast live on DD National every day starting at 6:30 am. The announcement was made via a post on X (formerly Twitter).
The decision to telecast the morning aarti live stems from a desire to connect devotees of Lord Ram, particularly following the grand inauguration of the temple less than two months ago. Recognizing that not everyone can physically visit the temple, Doordarshan aims to bring the divine experience to homes across the globe. The Aarti will also be available simultaneously on DD’s YouTube channel.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has granted approval for this initiative. Initially, Doordarshan will broadcast the “Mangala aarti” for a limited period, after which the Ram Temple Trust will evaluate future arrangements. Due to the Trust's current logistical limitations for live broadcasts, Doordarshan will deploy a small crew to the temple premises to ensure comprehensive coverage of the daily ritual.
The Ayodhya Ram Temple hosts six Aartis daily:
The temple trust has issued guidelines for devotees attending the Aartis. Entry for the Mangala Aarti (4:00 AM), Shringar Aarti (6:15 AM), and Shayan Aarti (10:00 PM) requires an entry pass. No entry passes are necessary for the other Aartis.
The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra has issued an advisory for devotees planning to visit the temple:
