NEW DELHI: South Africa’s young batting sensation Dewald Brevis made history on Tuesday as he became the most expensive player in SA20 history, going for a staggering R16.5 million (approx. Rs 8.3 crore) to the Pretoria Capitals during the Season 4 SA20 auction. His breakout performance came during MI Cape Town’s maiden title-winning campaign, where he amassed 291 runs in 10 matches at a stunning strike rate of 184.17, including two half-centuries.Durban’s Super Giants also had a marquee signing, snapping up two-time SA20 winner Aiden Markram for R14 million (approx. Rs 7.05 crore). Markram, who had an impressive IPL 2025 campaign with Lucknow Super Giants, will bring leadership and experience to the DSG squad. Meanwhile, seasoned leg-spinner Imran Tahir, 46, was acquired by Joburg Super Kings for R600,000 (approx.
