India Fined for Slow Over Rate in ODI Loss to Australia

India have been fined 10 per cent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate in the third Women's ODl against Australia in New Delhi.

Match referee G.S. Lakshmi of the Emirates ICC International Panel imposed the sanction after India were found to be two overs short of the required rate, even after factoring in time allowances.

Under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which deals with minimum over-rate offences, players are fined five per cent of their match fee for each over not bowled within the allotted time.

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur accepted the charge and the proposed penalty, eliminating the need for a formal hearing. The slow over-rate was reported by on-field umpires Lauren Agenbag and Janani Narayanan, with support from third umpire Gayathri Venugopalan and fourth umpire Vrinda Rathi.
